Shweta Nagre

Shweta Nagre is a Seerave Bioinformatics PhD fellow at the University Medical Center Groningen, supervised by Dr. / Professor Rinse Weersma and Dr. / Assistant Professor Johannes Björk. Her research investigates how microbiome-altering drugs influence gut microbiome composition during immunotherapy, and how these changes relate to treatment outcomes in patients with cancer. Originally from India, Shweta holds bachelor's and master's degrees in bioinformatics. She completed her master's thesis at Karolinska Institutet, developing genome-scale metabolic models from transcriptomic data to investigate how microbial exposure, demographics, and lifestyle shape immune system development in children. She then contributed to the GenomeIndia project and later joined the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi as a Junior Research Fellow, studying bacterial diversity, functional genomics, and pangenomics.
