FWO
Marthe is a medical oncologist pursuing a PhD focused on the management and prevention of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) in patients treated with cancer immunotherapy. Her research aims to improve the safety and tolerability of immune checkpoint blockade through better risk stratification and preventive strategies. She co-chairs the Multidisciplinary Immunotoxicity Board (BITOX), a national forum dedicated to the discussion of complex and severe irAEs, bringing together oncology and organ-specific expertise to support challenging clinical decisions. Marthe is also actively involved in clinical research and is running the FORX trial, which investigates whether a diverse, fiber-rich diet can reduce the incidence of irAEs in patients receiving immunotherapy.
